Amanda Maier’s Sonata in B minor brings the voice of a remarkable composer whose music has only recently begun to receive the attention it deserves. Schönberg’s Verklärte Nacht — “Transfigured Night” — transforms a literary poem into an intensely expressive musical journey, standing at the threshold between late Romanticism and modernism. The evening concludes with Brahms’s Piano Quartet in G minor, a work of extraordinary passion and invention. Together, Maier, Schönberg and Brahms create a final resonance across generations: music inherited, transformed and ultimately renewed.
